The Delivery EngineHigh-Frequency Delivery

Vybz Delivery

One rider. Five jobs. One handover per customer.

High-Frequency Delivery is the sorting engine behind Vybz Market: incoming orders are clustered onto the rider whose route they disturb least, sequenced as one interleaved stop path, and run inside the mapped delivery zone — so small orders share a trip instead of each paying for their own.

The Boundary Everything Happens Inside

The Delivery Zone

A single, clearly mapped service area over central Georgetown. If a pin falls inside it, Vybz Delivery serves that address — and the pin, not the postcode, is the absolute source of truth.

The map pin decides

Membership is decided by point-in-polygon on the actual delivery pin — the customer’s drop-off and the vendor’s storefront. No typed addresses, no exceptions.

Kept current by the Vybz team

The zone is a managed boundary over central Georgetown (~11 sq mi today), redrawn any time business demands it.

Enforced server-side, fail-closed

Every gate re-checks the pin at quote, charge, and dispatch — a missing zone refuses service rather than deliver outside the line. Client maps only preview.

Shaded on every map

Checkout and the merchant app draw the same gold boundary — pre-checked with the exact same formula the server enforces.

The "High-Frequency" Part

A Sorting Algorithm for City Deliveries

Every incoming order — any merchant, any customer — is sorted onto a rider trip in three steps. The goal never changes: the shortest added distance for the fleet, the fewest doorbells for the customer.

01

Attach to a live trip

A new order first looks for a rider already on the road with room to spare: a live position fresher than 10 minutes, fewer than 5 active jobs, and an added route distance of 1.5 miles or less. The smallest detour wins.

02

Launch a fresh trip

Nobody close enough? The nearest idle rider to the pickup gets the run — a clean single-order trip that incoming orders can attach to minutes later.

03

Degrade gracefully

If no rider position is usable, the classic least-loaded rule takes over bit-for-bit — a location-less fleet still dispatches, it just clusters less.

Interleaved Stop Sequencing

A clustered trip isn't run in the order it arrived. The rider's stops are re-solved as a precedence-constrained shortest open path — pick-ups and drop-offs interleaved for the shortest route, with the hard rules that matter kept intact.

Precedence-locked

A drop never precedes its pickup, and every pickup of one customer’s order precedes their single handover — no partial doorbell drops.

Solved exactly

Trips up to 12 stops are ordered by exact Held-Karp dynamic programming — the true shortest open path, not a guess. Larger fallbacks use nearest-feasible-neighbour with a 2-opt polish.

Re-sorted live

The stop order recomputes on every assignment and status change — completed stops fall away, so an order attaching mid-trip slots into the rider’s remaining route, not a stale plan.

Where the System Lives

Merchant. Rider. Zone.

The engine runs server-side — these are the surfaces merchants, riders, and the Vybz team touch every day.

Vybz Merchant

Dispatch from the palm of your hand

  • Send any order to a rider — customer pin, live location, or a pin you drop
  • Suggested rider badge with distance and stops already in hand
  • Drop-off pin picker shades the delivery zone and refuses outside pins
  • Pay dispatch fees from credit or MMG, per item, no surprises

Vybz Rider

One trip, one screen

  • "Stop 3 of 7 — Pick up: Merchant B" — the whole trip as one strip
  • Accept the whole batch or work stops one at a time
  • Shares live position while on an active trip so new orders can attach
  • Earnings tracked per delivered stop

The Vybz Team

The boundary moves with the business

  • Redraws the service area on a live map as coverage grows
  • Tracks the zone size with the same math the engine enforces
  • Every map updates the moment the boundary changes
Simple, Flat Pricing

GYD 200 per item

Platform delivery is priced flat — GYD 200 for every delivered item unit, charged once per merchant group and billed to the vendor. Merchants pay from their dispatch credit balance or with a Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) pay-now link. Clustering changes how the run happens, never what you pay: your cart spanning five merchants is five vendor-billed jobs with one shared drop pin and one physical handover.
